Materials

Syrup:
2 cups sugar
3 cups water
A few drops of lemon juice

Cake:
4 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup milk
1 cup Selva Semolina
2.5 cups Selva Flour
1 cup blue poppy seeds
1 packet baking powder

Topping:
1 packet whipped cream
1 cup cold milk

Preparation

Boil water and sugar, then add lemon juice and boil for a few more minutes. Let the syrup cool. For the cake, beat eggs and sugar until dissolved. Add oil, milk, and semolina; then flour and baking powder. Pour into a greased rectangular baking dish and bake at 180°C for 30 minutes. Pour cold syrup over hot cake and let it absorb for 1–2 hours. Prepare whipped cream with milk and spread on top. Slice and serve.
